The Nursing Science Society is composed of all Queen's Nursing students. Its central executive is elected annually from the student population and meets bi-weekly to discuss issues of concern, internal and external to the School of Nursing. The goal of the NSS is to encourage both academic and social interaction among nursing students, between students of various faculties and between students and faculty members. A variety of events are organized and sponsored by the society including NSS Awareness Week, Big Buddy events, fundraisers, the annual spring formal, nursing student conferences, and various other activities within the Queen's community.
The NSS is presently more involved with the professional aspect of nursing by directly interacting with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, and the Canadian Nursing Students? Association. All nursing students are encouraged to become involved in their class council or the NSS central executive. |
